I recently had my baby. A little girl. My daughter
Feena Karlise Armstrong
was born 11th October 2011 at 10.49am weighing 8lb2oz. In my main picture she was 5 hours 9 minutes old, hence I look rather rough, but also never better, as I'm sure you'd understand. She has my surname and looks a lot like me. I could not be more happy or proud.
Got cramps at like 2am saturday 8th oct that turned out to be contractions, but actual labour (4cm dilated) didn't come til 3pm monday 10th!!!! So 19 hours 49 minutes actual labour. Pushed her out in half an hour though which I thought was rather impressive!
Tried just gas and air (where I ended up pretending to be a plane for a while hehe) but she was back to back until 1 hour before pushing so had morphine and epidural too, then a hormone drip to make her turn. Needed an episiotomy too so stitches after which made sitting down and moving rather tricky and sore.
Was having a home water birth originally but was 2cm dilated at 11pm sun and still same by 8am mon so had to go in. The pools at Lister Hospital were all taken so had to do it the "normal" way. Plus with a heart monitor on my tummy as her rate was dropping, so in the "movie" position (laid back, legs up) which is actually more difficult and midwives recommend all fours.
Yes it hurt. Yes it was actual agony. But hearing things like "wow the baby has a full head of hair" as she crowned and then ultimately as I didn't know the gender "congratulations you have a daughter" made it worth it! Seeing her and holding her for the first time felt surreal. My only regret is I kinda wish it had been filmed so I could relive it again. But for all the pain and time it took, I'd do it a thousand times over if the end result is my pure, perfect daughter!

UPDATES ON FEENA
UPDATE 08/01/2012: Feena had her second jabs on thursday (05/01/2012) and took them rather well. She's a very sweet, good natured girl who now giggles and smiles most of the day. She's drinking 750mls in 3 installments per 24 hour period and sleeping 11-12 hours a night. Very proud mummy here!

UPDATE 09/12/2011: Feena is now 8 weeks and 3 days old. She had her first innoculations yesterday (08/12/2011) and was a very good girl. Also on monday (05/12/2011) she started giving her first real (ie non-gas) smiles. She's truly a beautiful little girl, inside and out.

I know I'm cute, I know I'm smart. Compliments are welcome, but I will only return them if I think so.

I nap a lot, I love my naps. What I don't love is people who try and wake me up from them. To sleep is to dream. And if you want to wake me you're probably just mad it's not you I dream of. (That's probably a good thing, I have lots of nightmares).

I don't care if you rate me, or what as. Sending me a message saying "Have a 10" means nothing to me. 10 what? Points on the internet that's a general scale of shallowness and if people want to bone you? No thanks. Can I have �10 instead? At least then I can do something.
