About Me
The meeting vs. the members… It mostly happens the same way… summer 2001, 2 guys meeting each other and deciding to set up a project. Sidelights on history, Deranged Psyche – lyrics & vocals - (singer of the now gone FUZEBOXMACHINE and member of the international underground Side-Line magazine) got fascinated through the trance-electro-tribal of THIS MORN’OMINA, the brainchild of Mika Goedrijk (also member of PO[W]DER PUSSY, PROJECT ARTIC…) – machines & web-master. At the end of 2006, Noa (known from the Belgian electro-act PROPULSION) joined the duo to work on the 3rd full length. Noa reinforced the writing process of the band while Mika Goedrijk became more active as producer. The sound vs. the name… From start on, the main aim of NEBULA-H has been always to compose a kind of electronic eclecticism, moving from EBM to techno to trance to jungle to everything they like that’s running through their minds. The name of the band was inspired by the state of mind both initial members went through. Before their found their style, they felt like being in the MIST… The idea of ‘mist’ became the red line of their concept, leading to the name NEBULA-H. The past… After having achieved a couple of songs, NEBULA-H caught the attention of the Belgium ALFA-MATRIX company (label of Leather Strip, Plastic Noise Experience, Front 242, Unternull…) Summer 2001, they released the “Twilight Zone”-Mcd, featured on the 2nd chapter of the “Alfa Square Matrix 2”-series, a label concept featuring 4 bands delivering each a 4-track Mcd. The title song, “Twilight Zone” became an international club-success ! A few months later, on the 1st of November 2001, Nebula-H released their official debut album entitled “H”. A limited edition (dcd) has been released as well, featuring an exclusive song, remixes by NEBULA-H themselves and some featurings with artists like DIVE, AIBOFORCEN, AH-CAMA-SOTZ… The success of the debut-album brought NEBULA-H to play at some famous festivals all over Europe. NEBULA-H worked out a hypnotic and very dynamic live concept, featuring live video-animation by a special 3rd member, active in the psy-trance scene. Peggy Kurstjens aka Goahoma soon became an essential new member, part of the live-concept. The writing of the 2nd album started in 2003, but due to different troubles, it took quite a long time to achieve “H20”. Most of the songs have been composed in 2004, resulting in an even more danceable sound. The 2nd chapter of the “H”-saga went on with the exploration of modern and danceable underground electronics while the lyrical concept again dealed with surrealistic themes devoted to the world of arts! Musically speaking “H20” became more techno and trance-like than “H”, like taking a distance with the usual dark-EBM cliché of the underground scene. Songs like “Symbiosis” and “Mobilis In Mobile” became the new hits of this album. “H20” got quite a good response and even if NEBULA-H has been asked to make new shows, they only made a few new live appearances! The 3rd album… “rH”… NEBULA-H started writing new songs in 2006. What has been origianlly meant to be the final chapter of the “H”-saga, became a new exploration in electronic styles and the taste for new influences. NEBULA-H wanted to get back into the darkness of the “H” -album mixed with the heavy danceable side of the “H20”-album. The main change for sure happened in the line-up. Noa an active member of the Belgian electro-act PROPULSION was asked to join the band and soon became the main writer of the new songs while Mika Goedrijk became more active as producer. Due to several troubles, it took quite a long time to write and achieve this new album. “rH” (rage) stands for a kind of internal state of mind the band went through during the writing process! Some new featurings were organized with bands like FOOCHOW, PROPULSION, TRIMETRICK, PSY’AVIAH and FUZEBOXMACHINE. Last, but not least, NEBULA-H is also planning a completely new visual live-show… time for changes… www.alfa-matrix.com info@nebula-h.be

The EBM of Front 242 mixed with the techno influences of Praga Khan with a flavor of trance à la Juno Reactor and the power of Empirion
