My Online name is Arkthuruz, Im 19 years old and I live in Celaya Mexico, tho I'm moving next month 2 hours away from here, to Leon, to study graphic Design. I was raised in Rosarito, Baja California, in a middle class home with my family. My dad traveled all through mexico so he didnt have much time to be around. My mom turned to christianity when I was 3, and she has been changing from denomination ever since... and now she is christian extremist. A kind of menonite of some sorts... My sister is a fervent christian girl, and she recently went on a misionary trip to india. My brother, hes just confused... Me... I'm an amateur guitar player and singer who wants to change my country... and as David Draiman said... "Ill use my music as a weapon" As I was groing up, I was very oblivious to the outer world apart from my christian universe... I read the bible 5 times by the time I was 10, sang every sunday at church, and prayed every day... until I got to 7th grade. There I started to realize I did not feel what they taught... and the very preachers did not live the life they preached... And so I lost my faith. By that time I started to seek for a "worldly" music that could express how I thought music should be... a way to communicate emotions and ideas. I started listening to what my friends listened searching for some group who I could identify myself with... Bad religion had the way I thought about politics... Sublime the way I behave (except for the drugs)... but I couldnt find someone I could relate to, someone who could sing the dessperation and anger I felt against religion... and then one day I saw prayer in mtv... I was shocked. Stunned. That was the way I felt! Then I read David's bio and I knew he was the perfect example and role model for me... Then I realized I wanted to give my country better music... music that could make them cry or make them jump at will of the musician. And even more, give my country's non conventional musicians a chance to be known without being pop ballads... a chance to be different. I have never worried about money... I have never wanted to be famous just for the thrill of it... I want to be known as a good musician who does everything for his country, an example to all mexican musicians, and to be the one who opens the doors to all of them to be themselves. That is my plan... That is my goal... and that is my life. My dream band is: -guitar/screamer -2nd guitar/vocals (me mostly acoustics and rithm when necessary) -cello (instead of bass) -piano / violin / backup vocals I know I can easily find them... but the thing is... there is noone in my country strong enough to back us up... the only record companies are only interested in romantic stuff... shit.
