About Me
Sometimes it's time for a change. Sometimes there's a whole different side of an artist that they need to express. And sometimes...they do it because they can.
That's the decision Boise, Idaho native Matthew "Axl" Brammer made in late 2011 after spending 10+ years in death metal, black metal, and grindcore bands. After compiling softer acoustic pieces and lyrics that had fallen by the wayside and gotten stored in the vault, taking less priority over the heavier material, Axl decided to create The Challis Effect, an acoustic based rock project that would have the capability of being powerful, yet minimalistic. No bs, just some good acoustic stuff.
Haunted and Alone, a ten-track acoustic demo, was released in February 2012, followed by April 2012's Wishful Thinking and Broken Dreams EP...both of which are available for free download on several sites. The first full length album, Your Heart Was Built On A Graveyard Of Lies, is scheduled for a late 2012 release, and drummer/percussionist Aaron Lebrun has jumped on board for occassional percussion duties.
Check out The Challis Effect's journal on VF for lyrics, videos, downloads, updates, and random bullshit, and help spread the word :)
