ABOUT DEATH BIRD

I'm a 23 year "old" young lady from Antwerp, Belgium. If you care to read some boring information about me, please, do read on :)

I have a bachelor's degree in applied linguistics and a master's degree in interpreting (English and German). Fabulous, isn't it? That makes me quite literate, articulate and communicative. Myezz, and I'm currently studying in Brussels for a post graduate degree in business communication. In other words, I should be able to come up with a good communication plan and conduct market research for random companies. Right...

People notice me, because of the distinct way I dress. I have my own version of "gothic" and my colours always match, lol!. Lolita, fetish, victorian and burlesque is where I get my fashion inspiration. That's also the reason why photographers like to put me in front of their camera: I put a lot of effort and detail in my outfits. On top of that I can be very creative and expressive and that's why modelling is so much fun to me. Grateful compliments like "you're almost too easy to photograph", "that was so much fun" and "you're a pro" is what makes me strive to ameliorate my modelling skills even more (but I do need to stress that I am not a professional model). As you will notice while perusing through my gallery, my pictures can be quite revealing. Yet I will always try to present a sophisticated version of "sexy" to you, exactly like I try to give you a sophisticated, mature and classy version of "goth" or "cute".

You might find my modelling name Death Bird a little funky. Comic book readers will certainly think of the marvel villainess Deathbird, but that is not where I got the name from. The idea first came to me when I watched the 1922 silent film Nosferatu for the second time, a couple of years ago. The name seemed appropriate for me as I've always had a fascination for fluffy things, feathers in particular. I've had a bird ever since I was little and I still do now. Unfortunately he's almost 6 years old now, so I do not know how much longer he'll be around... Also, birds (well, ravens and crows) were often considered to be an omen of death. And I'm sure you can think of some creepy movies involving birds as well ;). So there you have the creepy goth element to my name!

I might seem cold to some people, but people who know me know that I'm the exact opposite. I'm very warm and I love to have friends over. Yes, I'm definitely a good hostess. I'm also the perfect cook, but NOT the perfect cleaning lady :D My perfect husband leaves the cooking up to me and does the dishes in silence afterwards ;) haha

I love: shopping, eating, drinking, having girly conversations(=not the order of importance!).
