Seabound's first full-length album, a great CD which has become one of my favorites
to be released in 2001. Seabound's sound is future-pop / electro-pop / synthpop /
industrial-dance, with melodic, clear vocals. Excellent lyrics, beautiful,
danceable music. This CD is truly a gem and every track on here is good.
"Smoke" - a great start to the album. I like this track a lot. It's got
future-pop / ebm beats, and occasional melodic synth sounds.
"Travelling" - probably the most popular track on this album, since it was released
as a single before this album. This is indeed a great track and I'm glad it
gets the recognition it deserves.
"Exorcize" - One of my favorite tracks on the album. Brilliantly placed samples,
and a moving beat, along with beautiful melodic vocals, and some background vocals
which are distorted to sound robotic. I often find myself singing along to this track.
"Point Break" - A slow tempo, mellow song. Calm and relaxing. One of my least
favorites on the album, but its still pretty good.
"Torn" - Another favorite track. This is an upbeat song, with emotional vocals.
My favorite part is the distorted vox saying "if you love me, you will find me"
Has a great beat you can dance to.
"Dunnocks" - Another good song. I really like the random synths in the background,
almost sounds like something out of a videogame.
"Hooked" - One of the more upbeat songs on the album. This track has an
uplifting feel to it that make me feel like i've come to some grand revelation.
It builds up in certain parts kind of like a trance song.
"Coward" - probably the most industrial sounding song on the album, with distorted
vocals and a more aggressive feel
"Avalost (instrumental)" - This song is actually on the 'Travelling' single, only
the version on that single has vocals. The fact that they put the instrumental
version on here really is a bit of a disappointment since I absolutely love
the vocal version. But, its still a good song without the vocals in it. Incidentally,
side-line magazine asked Seabound in an interview, wny they put the instrumental version
of this song on the album, and they said they felt it went better with the general feel
of the album. This makes sence since "Avalost" is a much slower, more emotional track
than the other songs on the album.
"Rome on Fire"- a more experimental sounding song, not so dancey, with spoken word
vocals in some parts.
