Intervox - VampireFreaks.com

Artist: Intervox
Album: Core

This is one of the most talented unsigned artists i've come across. Their sound is a blend of gothic, industrial, and synthpop, with each song having its own unique sound to it. the song "cut like knives" is an electro-industrial song with an eerie machine-revolution vibe to it. This album is actually a single for the song "Core", but it contains 11 tracks, only 3 of which are versions of "Core". the song "Core" is a very catchy mellow gothic-industrial song with deep bassy vocals. The song just stays in my head forever after i've heard it. the remixes of "Core" are more club-oriented, with more upbeat industrial tempos. my favorite song on this album is "Mercy [Desperation Mix]". This is a great synthpop song with a great combination of male and female vocals. I'd say that this song is definitely worthy of club-play and i find myself blasting this song and grooving to it. the song "Reasons" has nice ethereal/ambien vocals with a nice combination of ethereal and industrial beats. The song "Undone" is a soothing synthpop track, sounding very similar to the band "And One". "Deify" has some beautiful piano melodies, with low pitched gothic vocals. Intervox is a very talented band with many varying musical styles ranging from song to song. Personally, I prefer the songs with the more synthpopy vocals such as "Mercy" and "Undone" as opposed to the more gothic vocals of "Core" and "Deify", but i love the variety in sounds and I have an appreciation for all the songs on this cd.
