The latest release from this dark techno / electronic band on the well respected
alfa matrix label.
What made me have to pick this particular cd up is the fact
that Jennifer Parkin of Epsilon Minus does the vocals on this particular album.
Implant's older stuff is good, but I'm a big fan of Parkin's vocals.
However, Jennifer's vocal contribution is minimal compared to Epsilon Minus,
retaining Implant's techno sound, with the occasional sung line.
The vocals on the album are more soft and soothing compared to Epsilon Minus vocals,
kind of ethereal sounding, which
is an interesting change of pace. The album is basically techno / eletronica,
and has trance elements, with a few more melodic tracks, yet it keeps the bpm high.
Also unlike their previous work, has some tribal influences, which is cool.
The track "hang the dj" is the most industrial track, with harder drum beats
and more aggressive vocals.
My favorite track on here is "all i want". its an upbeat techno song, with
driving synth sounds, and has jennifer singing "all i want is you", yet its
edited so that she holds one of the notes for a really long time, and it sounds
really cool. there's a "club mix" version of this song included on the cd, and I
play it when I dj on occasion.
