First of all, I have no idea why I did not review this cd earlier. This CD came out in 2001 and it is one of my absolute favorite CD's. I know that there's tons of CD's that deserve to be reviewed on this site, but this CD is truly amazing and if you do not have it, buy it right away! While this is currently Echo Image's only full-length album, they do have about 5 singles, including a new single callled "Endless Day" which is absolutely amazing. Echo Image is a synthpop band, although they tend to blur the lines between synthpop and futurepop. The songs range from upbeat futurepop sounding tracks, to slower synthpop ballads. All of the songs on this album are great! Seriously, this is one of the few albums that you can listen to all the way through and love every second of it. I often play them at my dj gigs, although I tend to play their remixes which are found on their singles, such as "skulk" and "need to be proud", since they are easier to mix into other songs. This album has such a great happy tone to it, it's synthpop, yet not overly cheesy and every aspect of the music is skillfully done. I am surprised that Echo Image isn't way more popular than they currently are, because they really deserve to be famous. This albums is way better than some of the more popular synthpop/industrial bands out there. But then again, the fact that they aren't that popular makes them that much more special. As a dj, I constantly get requests for the same old crap, and I actually got a request for Echo Image once and it totally put a smile on my face. This album appears on the A Different Drum label, but apparently they recently moved to Apoptygma Berzerk's hard:drive label for their newest single, which seems to make it harder to find. Unlike many bands nowadays, Echo Image has a unique sound and doesn't really sound like anybody else.
