Murderfreak love for dark electronic music emerged in the late 80’s when he became enthralled with the growing electronic new wave scene. By the early 90’s Murderfreak took an interest in almost all dark alternative genre like industrial, punk and metal.
At the age of 19, he started producing punk inspired anarchistic music fanzine like Vengeance and Anarchy & Equality while also indulging in the sound of Nine Inch Nails, Godflesh, Test Dept, Skinny Puppy etc. He soon caught on the wave of of Digital hardcore music and with his peers produced Tokyo Tribe 0216, one of the first few Digital Hardcore music fanzine. Not ignoring his electronic and dance background, he also help produced Urban Blaze, the first electronic Dance fanzine in Singapore.
Fast forward to recent years, Murderfreak continue to expand his involvement with the electronic dance scene by VJing for the dance music collective 44BEATZ at their night at Ministry of Sound Singapore's Pure room.
In 2008 he hooked up with the Singapore Dark Alternative Movement and became a committee member, at the same time one of the resident DJ, along side local gothic/industrial stables DJ Saito Nagasaki (Aesgrade) and DJ Mentor (X’ho in a guise) for the monthly Dark Friday event opening for DJ Panic (Slimelight / Pure Industrial, London, UK), Eskil Simonsson of Covenant (Sweden), DJ Stefan P (resident DJ at the Factory / Dominion Club in Magdeburg) and Angelspit (Australia).
