Profile:
I'm in the vampire friendly city of Los Angeles, moving west from New York City and New Jersey, my original home. I'm in the music business. I play as a musician in studios, do production and engineering for mostly bands no one knows, and teach guitar and (mainly) piano, which I love. I went to some northeast College to be a writer, but unfortunately read some Bukowski and William S. Burroughs before the teachers could get to me. got signed to a record deal before I attempted graduation- then another, then another. They all mostly sucked, but the experience was hardcare, and there were good tours and gigs along with awful. I've played with lots of New York bands, and many New Jersey bands- Monster Magnet, (East Coast Stoner-Rock) Mr Reality (Accousticy /bruce springsteen/u2/ eagles style) and a zillion others that weren't on major labels, or sometimes any label. Was there in the 90's when the NYC goth scene was new, and though only dressed up in full costume for events, dug the people and sound. I've had few jobs outside the music business- I've been to Europe a few times and love Amsterdam and London. Even though I'm not a hardcore goth or vampire I love the sensuality and reaissance attitude that knowledge is fuckin' cool and outcasts are the true thinkers. I am a lover of sensuality and darkness- . I'm tall, over 6'3" with shoulder length black hair, green eyes, around 195 pounds. I'm old enough to have some confidence in myself, but still always looking for more esteem- and love compliments. I'm looking for artists of all types to share creativity with. I have a girl roomate/ girlfriend/ and I'm not here to date beautiful Goth Girls (though I find most all Goths beautiful) But would love to make creative friends who want to push the envelope and have new ideas in music, technology, art. I really need a singer from the West Coast to work with- I've got a dozen songs, recording gear, etc, and can play all the instruments- but I'm not a singer. - I don't care about age or sex- if you dig the lyrics or music ,I could use your help, even if you don't sing, I work better collaborating with someone. Freaks don't follow trends. Freaks aren't afraid to shock to educate. Freaks don't feel they must conform, but shouldn't feel they must non-conform either. I have respect for all the under 17 Goths here- they've taught me a lott sometimes- but anyone over 21 and still on this sight is in it for reasons of their own. Those are the most interesting VF's I've met
Playing, writing, recording and listening to music. Girls with tattoos, piercings, fishnets, dreads or dyed- insanely red or black hair. Punk girls with Docs, "suicide girls" who don't work for them. Dancers, writers, artists. those not afraid to be themselves- people comfortable with their looks, cool girls without tats, piercing, or fishnets who don't care that I like those things: but also Girls who've done all those things cause I liked them, needed approval, and got love and awareness they needed. Curvy Girls. leather. school-girl skirts, inteligent women who like to talk, British accents, absinthe, knowledge Christopher Moore, Anne Rice, William Burroughs, charles Bukowski, stephen king's the stand, and dark tower, red dragon, keroauc, tom robbins, irvine welsh, nabakov Pulp fiction, trainspotting, resevoir dogs, true romance, natural born killers, basketball diaries, requiem for a dream, drugstore cowboy, lock, stock and two smoking barrels, the vampire lovers, Interview, lost boys, manhunter, silence of the lambs, old universal horror movies, 9,999,999 others Buffy, Angel, various reruns of Sci-Fi, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, simpsons, heroes, anything weird and new and good, Night Stalker, Lost, Dexter, Sopranos (discounting last 2 years) quentin tarrentino's CSI episode, Futurama writing poetry, lyrics, short-stories, novels, encyclopedias burning tires, cfc's, atomic weapons, building model kits of famous crime scenes, 1960's swag- comics, spies with a license to kill (or even just a permit to hurt... hell, even a valid library card) BDSM, leather jackets, levis, cigarettes, coffee, drugs& liqour (not as much lately) insomnia, sleeping for days NEW YORK CITY, L.A. downtown and hollywood&vine Mastiffs, Rottweilers If you're reading this, almost certainly you. Put the comment "Barfly" on a post to me if ya read this boring crap...I'll hook you up. I will love you if you do, and probably if ya don't. Yvonne, Keytra, Chey< Crimson
Dislikes:
people- except for anyone reading this anyone wrapped up in money, wealth, bullshit,& posessions, who dosen't use it to help make real change... Racists, haters of all types, war, politicians sending my brother to a dessert while they drink single malt scotch w/ice religious theives- I've never paid, and was never asked to pay a dime to wicca. Or Buddhism. Only in the name of christ, who kicked out the money changers from the temple, do they ask. This is televangelists in particular. TV therapists, tabloids, paparazzi, Oprah's book plugs, our obsession with the "famous"...the few I've known are ordinary, except being talented. Just 'cuse we've seen then on TV we think we know them. Often they are not what you think. mushrooms, scorpions, pink (color not the girl), War On Drugs (war on Americans) anti-abortion, bush/cheney/satan 04 TV sitcoms- w/laff tracks, most TV except see above, technology replacing live performance or literature. reality shows that reward singers who can't write songs, reality shows of every other type. Girls and women who are too thin- I dig curvy chicks, and don't want a boy-type. Betty page and Marilyn were thin but not crazy. A girl so called "overweight" by 40 or a girl "underweight" by 40- No contest, 40-over is real, soft, and more likely to live the week. If a girl has a reason (metabolism problem, athlete, prisoner, junkie, etc,) I understand and I can deal with that. anyone -girl or guy just lookin' for dates- who pretends interest in some bullshit thing- for the under 21 usually the picture layout, for the over 21 dudes poetry/art, for the 25 and over dudes (of which I am) all kinds off bullshit about being a musician and so on...(not...really...) and for the under 17 yr. old dude- "nice boobs" or "Will you do me" if you read this much- 1- you're as crazy as me 2- I love you 3- put "Drinks for all my friends" if you post me- forget about barfly, that's so 5 minutes ago.
Favorite Music:
So many different styles and bands- Janes Addiction, White Stripes, Cure, Jimi Hendrix, The Decemberists, Gomez, Bob Marley, nine inch nails, Ice T in the early 90's, Cracker, Led Zep and The stones, masters of reality, black sabbath, the 3 grunge bands- stp, alice, Nirvana, soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Ray Charles and Johnny cash...The last three beatles albums- sgt pepper, abbey road, white album. Oh yeah- Let it be is allright. Newest cool stuff I've heard: Shiny toy guns, cold war Kids, Placebo...a lot of the L.A. Indie station(Mainly steve Jones from the sex pistols show- his taste is as diverse as anyone I've heard.) Lately Dream Theater, depeche mode, morrisey, Beck, sublime, Moby, anyone who can put out a sound that's unique to them- I don't really know much about country or new r&b/urban, but as a musician I love the techno, acid, jungle, house, and trance styles- programming sequences and samples is like mathematical art mixed with soul and chemistry 101. A friend is a DJ, and that shit can rip- mash albums on pro-tools kick. jimmi hendrix Janis Joplin Jim Morrison and Chris Carvalo, singer, writer, artist, who we lost in December to drugs and New York City. He was truly my brother my favorite singer, and always was my best friend.
