Means, marked by decay or decline
History
A birth was delivered 23 April 1616. It was easy to remember, since it is the same date of Bard of Avon's death.
In this small town of Worchester, England, the civilians were mostly lower class with a few middle class in the mix. Due to ignorance and lack of any, let alone formal, education, the town was prone to suspicion for the smallest occurances.
When the birth of a beautiful little girl was announced, word spread that the child looked unordinary, due to the bright fiery red locks of her hair, when her parent's had dark brown hair.
As time passed, the town took a turn for the worse. Crops were not surviving, disease was spreading, multiple miscarriages, it was as if a dark cloud was above little Worchester. The stench of decay was thick. Wives that suffered the loss of unborn children began blaming the "demon child" for their problems. The child bore no name till the age of six when her parent's were forced by the Church to name her Decadence.
Men flocked to Decadence, even at a young age. At the age of fifteen, she was put on trial of being accused as a witch. Her parent's asked if she could just be exiled from the country instead of being burned.
Without even saying anything she was dragged out of England and left somewhere in the borders of a forest.
She was angry and her resentment for people grew. She wondered area for almost a year. She would have dreams of a man, his face never showed but he was beyond words.
One day she found herself at an ocean and sat in the sand letting the water rush to her bare legs. All she had was the little white dress and no shoes since she had been exiled. She mostly ate wild berries and other asortments. She would always remember that day in the water when He rescued her. It was windy and he spoke only in her thoughts.
Decadence knew right away it was the same man from her dream. He introduced himself as, Armand. He led her to his home in Romania. He had her dressed and fed as he saw fit. Decadence loved him in many ways, even after he told her what his true form was.
On her twenty-first birthday, Armand gave her the gift of immortality. They spent every single moment together till 1780. That's when Armand fell in love with another male vampire. It didn't bother her like it should have, she left Romania and wondered throughout Europe for centuries.
Present Day
She has grown particular to what she feeds on. Humans are off limits, she finds them grotesque and not meaning just their taste. To be continued..
