SM: So guys, how is the music making coming, any new material you working on? BL: Actually we just finished a new song that is going to blow people away. Its really different from our other songs. SM: When did you guys first official call your self Borland?, by the way who came up with the band name? BL: "Borland" became our band name is November of 2006. We were all sitting in Pats basement making up stupid band names and he said "borland" as a joke. It had a nice ring to it so we decided to stick with it. SM: People are constantly stereo typing Metal and hardcore bands, saying its all the same, how would you guys say your different? BL: When it comes to writing and listening to music, all five of us are really open minded. We love all styles and dont limit ourselves to one single genre. We make pissed off music but we are all really happy dudes that love to party. we take the band very serious but its mostly about having fun and making new friends. SM: In the next say, five years where do you hope to be with the band? BL:we hope to be on a world tour and be signed to a bad ass label. :) hopefully by then the band will be our full time job and we wont have to work at our shitty part time jobs. SM: You have a couple of shows coming up, what was it like when you guys first started doing shows? BL:It was amaizing...we have alot of buddies that are promoters in the detroit area and right away we were being thrown on huge shows. So far we've shared the stage with a crazy list of bad ass bands. SM: I’ve never been to one of your shows, so I’m looking forward to this dirt fest coming up, who you are actually opening up for is Between the Buried and Me, would this be your guys first time opening for a national band? BL:Actually we have opened for LOTS of national bands such as black dahlia murder, animosity, abigail williams, necrophagist, cattle decapitation, beneath the massacre, as blood runs black , see you next tuesday and the list goes on and on. We've had great luck with getting thrown on big shows, so we are very thankful for all the promoters that support us. SM: What bands would you say have influenced your music the most? BL:Its really hard for me to think of one single band that influenced us to start a metal band. But lately most of our inspiration has come from See You Next Tuesday, The Red Chord, Psyopus, Suicide Silence and puff daddy SM: Well I cant wait to see you guys at dirt fest!, and good luck with the rest of your up coming shows!, look forwarding to hearing some new material soon.!!
