I realize there have been a few users who have been trying to bully other users, pick on them and make fun of them. We have been actively monitoring the site and the line has been drawn, we will be cracking down on these offensive users and making VF a more friendly and accepting environment. As always we actively encourage freedom of speech, but not at our community's expense and not at the expense of other users. Thanks for your support and we do encourage everyone to be courteous to their fellow VF members and help encourage a friendly community. =)
Alright, so you remember months ago when you said you were gonna take away the top pics section of this site? It's still there. And also, what happened about you cleaning up the top pics section? I see no difference, in fact, it's gotten worse. I do not see hope in this journal. I see nothing but hypocrisy and you putting on a show for being nice. ???
I'd like to make it known also, that a girl who I was friends with on here a while back (cannot remember her username) but she had a guy who apparently hacked into her computer, found out where she lived, knew her address, phone, name etc. He was constantly harassing her, verbally and sexually. She blocked him countless times, he got into her account, unblocked himself, and told her if she blocked him again, he knew where she lived and that he was going to come to her house and rape her til she bled.
She reported it, nothing was done about it, not sure which admin or mod she went to, but they thought she had made it up and fabricated it. Turns out the guy starting calling, her, threatening her, she finally got the cops involved. Also turns out, the guy was a convicted 2 time rapist.
Any sort of threats like this or any threat, should NOT be taken lightly and should be dealt with on the spot.
Just thought I would bring this to your attention also.
Here's what I've noticed.
Those who are "cyber bullied" don't go cry to thier mommies.
They come back at the person attacking them JUST AS HARD, or harder.
So, why should only one person be banned?
If BOTH parties are constantly starting shit, isn't it fair to just let them be the big boys and girls they are and solve it themselves?
Like, okay if someone is constantly being attacked, and trying to ignore those doing it. Sure, whatever.
But from what I've seen. The bitches bullying the bitch are getting bitched at right back by the bitch they were bitching at.
I'd just like to point out that nivram has on many, many occasions threatened to assault people in real life, send his son to do it, and asked people for their addresses so that he could. He has done so in both flash chat and on the site.
I'm pretty sure he remains unbanned, and there are comments of him being an asshole and relentlessly harassing people over negative response to him down-rating and harassing them. It should at the very least be investigated.
I even submitted a ticket for, what appeared to be, him abusing the site and making multiple accounts, then deleting them, to down-rate a journal about him being a dick. I was told that nothing will be done because the journal apparently targeted him. That being something I consider to be objectively an administrative issue was blatantly dismissed and people are getting banned for "being assholes" or "cyber bullies".
1I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure forum staff chooses their own mods, not Jet.
That sounds about right, and that one was solved very quickly- with an apology from the right people. But, he was allegedly working within the rules that were set by Jet. (and I was terribly, terribly rude to the moddy arsehole- to the point where I was called a bully)
The forum staff didn't choose the Admin that destroyed the forums. I doubt the sysadmins who spent days trying to recover the database and perform a selective rollback chose to give power to that person. For good and bad, the buck stops with Jet.
There needs to be concrete lines and if I cared about internal politics, I could give a better evaluation of the cockups.
I am glad this is being done.
There is a difference between being "Honest" or "Having and opinion" and being a "Cyber Bully"
Yes, this is just the internet, and yes, you can try and ignore it, and yes people should have freedom to speak their minds.
But, think about it if they were you, or someone you cared about. Words hurt more than anything, and even if we try and ignore it, it's hard to forget. Cyber bullying takes it so much further than just "stating an opnion".
People who are in a bad place emotionally are on here, and they are looking for people like them. This should be a safe place for them to do that.
People who are that emotionally unstable/traumatized can eventually do something drastic like going on a shooting rampage or killing themselves.
It's not just words on the internet, not just an opinion or whatever. it can be devestating when taken too far and I think that it needs to stop. People don't look realise how much of an impact their words can make.

It really cool of you guys to crack the whip on this crap. people that have to bully others is just sad. Even more sad when it over a screen and not face to face cause they are cowards even more so. Just punks waiting to get punked m/
In all truth no one want's to see anyone kill them self over bullying on this site, it would bring only bad press and more drama than any of us want. It has happened on other sites and if it goes on the way it is then it will happen on here. I called the other side of the world to stop someone from doing this because he said "I am going to kill myself and make the whole site feel it".
I love this I have been bullied my whole life and when I joined FB I was cyberbullied multiple times, VF has always been a safe place for me to go without being judged by others because of who I am inside and out. I love this website!
Okay so I've kinda been laughing my ass off reading all of these comments, not having anything to add.
But let me just say. Nivram made about 12 different accounts just to downrate my journal. He was harassing me, I posted a part of our conversation in my journal. I had no insults to say to/about him, and simply said "lol I'm so confused by what happened."
He made A DOZEN accounts to downrate me for posting a part of a confusing conversation with him in my journal.
His response to this was to flip out at a bunch of my friends, block them, threaten to kick their asses, threaten to come to their houses, ask for their addresses etc etc etc.
Absolutely nothing was done about this.
So I personally can't take this seriously for that reason alone. If things are going to be done about "cyber-bullying" then perhaps someone should start by putting Nivram in his place.
God damn.
I'm not gunna waste my time reading through all these journal comments but I will imply the simple question that should've been asked from the start....

I'm sorry but if you let shit people say on the internet affect/effect/whatthefuckever you, then that's just sad.. Grow some balls or ovaries, maybe even both.
I'd like to point out that I was actually picked on pretty heavily in high school. That was quite different as I was forced to be around assholes that hated me, and I hated.
But you know what? I learned to cope with it, and there is no excuse on a site where you can block pretty much all contact with someone. You should be spending your time teaching people to cope with harassment and discrimination if you care so much. That is actually productive.
Okay I have made it threw each page of everyone's thoughts on this. As much as my myself has been a victim of cyber bullying here (and I am no young kid) I can see this becoming a sad mess. Sorry I know this is a good thing. Recently though I myself was accused of being a "bully" not to mention a few other choice things because of showing a disagreement to some of my staff about another member. It started in the cult and ended up flowing everywhere. To protect both myself and the other party I posted screen shots of it all. From start to beginning letting everyone make their own choice.
With that I was called a bully and then some by someone. To me then if that person ran to admins I can lose my account and all that I have worked on here. I have been a member for a very long time. I would hate to lose everything because someone and their buddies they get to back them up scream cyber bully.
