Move the Featured News up there in it's place and put Top Journals where the Featured News is.
If not the Top Journals then just put the Featured Cult with a banner and short description.
Having the Friends' Updates on the Main Page as well as the Home Page is redundant.
It makes sense to keep the Top (X) where it is next to the Who's Online tabs.
The reason I suggested Top Journals anyway is because there are more than journal entries there are cults by far and I wouldn't want to see stuff like Emo_Hair up there every day. No offense to them, just not my style.
Unfortunately every time I look at the Top Journals there really isn't much interesting, just stupid things. I think anybody that posts something informative or intellectual has their own blog/journal elsewhere.

I just don't think that seeing that one of my friends has updated their profile for the billionth time is more relevant on the MAIN PAGE of this website, than the featured cult/member/band/whatever.
I dunno why it was put there in the first place. Doesn't make sense to me.

sometimes i'm annoyed with friend updates cuz i don't actually seeing everyone's conversations in comments u.u
sometimes i don't even care about who's pics they're commenting on or what they're saying but I can't disable myself from being able to see that without deleting them off my friends list
so i think if friend updates stays up we should be able to customize what we see from our friends just as easily as they can customize what we're allowed to see.
I agree. However, they would only be able to post international or national (to who though? The US? That leaves out the rest of the world and many users are from other countries) tours.
In order to tailor results to you they would have to incorporate geological information like Google and far too many advertisers do. I, for one, am very much against being spied on. Also, if they were to do such it would not work properly for those who use a proxy and it would be much more work to find local shows and officially post them for each person's region.
jet The vf art thing is an AMAZING idea. Artwork conveys a lot about a person- more than words could. What better way to get to know a person than through their art?!
"Goth" culture places a huge emphasis on being intellectual and creative. This would be something WORTH being featured.
What makes this idea even more amazing is that it would encourage creativity. More people on this site would be recognized and appreciated for their talent and personality instead of slutty pics.
Goth culture is dying (toning down and becoming mainstream). And vf is a HUGE part of the culture now-a-days. This would help resurrect the culture and probably improve vf's reputation. I've heard so many claims that "vampirefreaks killed goth" because people on the site mostly care about ratings and pic props instead of intelligence and creativity.
Lot's of people also complain that 13 year olds are putting up slutty pics. A lot are just imitating what they see would get them attention. If they see that they would get recognition for art instead, I'm sure a lot would focus more on that.
Yes! Encouraging people to post art on here is an amazing idea. I think it'll stir up some creativity and bring forth the intellectuals to be a better representation of our culture.
