the IMBOLC 2012 update: posters and the UK/Ireland Tour! February 02, 2012, 01:29:pm
Imbolc Blessings to you all!
Thig an nathair as an toll
Là donn Brìde,Ged robh trì troighean dhen t-sneachd
Air leac an làir.
As the first signs of the coming Springs are appearing here and there (surely not here in Italy, where we are experiencing the harshest February in 30 years...), we bring you some hot news.

In little over a month, we'll storm over the British Isles once again, for three concerts in Dublin, London and Glasgow. Surgyn will be the main guests for the tour, and each date will have something spicy and unique.

We'll open in Dublin on Friday, March 9th, at The Thomas House, and you can find all the details at the official Facebook event. Surviving the first night of the tour will be already hard, as we know even too well how hard our Irish friends like to party - and drink!

Next day, Saturday, March 10th, we'll be in London at the Slimelight (our second house, really!) for a bombastic night featuring also the UK newcomers Spucktute and Observe & Control, all the way from Tel-Aviv. We'll also have a very special guest joining us on stage for a song or two...
And if this is not enough, the ticket to the gig will grant free entry to the Slimelight Afterparty, which will feature a live concert by Alien Vampires and 3 floors of industrial dance till 7am in the morning.

You can already preorder your tickets here: http://www.eeetickets.com/xp8
Please note: unfortunately, during transit to Music Non Stop, a batch of gig tickets (including ones to this show) were stolen. The following tickets are stolen and will not be accepted at this show: numbers 031 - 050. If anyone tries to sell you tickets with these numbers, please inform a member of staff at Flag Promotions.

Finally, after braving the British Railroads once again, we'll head up to Glasgow and The Classic Grand - where they are already stocking up the vodka after having realised how much we can drink last November - for a great finale, where we'll be joined also by Analog Angel, who will open the dances on Sunday, March 11th.

So, excited yet?
But this is not all... as we are printing a limited run of 300 prestige 220 g/sqm red paper, 50x70 cm, 3 colors hand pulled screenprint posters to celebrate the tour itself, and you can in fact help us decide which graphic to print, by voting it at the poll we just created on our Facebook Page.
Here's the designs, courtesy of Clockwork Pictures:

We'll announce the winning design in a week, and you'll be able to pre-order the posters as well and get them directly at the merchandise booth.

That's all for now, M&M out.

December 02, 2011, 06:40:am
December 2nd, 2011: X: A Decade Of Decadence hits the stores worldwide.

You can grab the limited edition digipack version by Deathwatch Asia (distributed worldwide through your usual stores/mailorders) or you can download it right now from iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusicBeatport - the worldwide #1 music store for electronic and dance music - and pretty much everywhere else you can go to buy digital music online.

And in case you are wondering, yes, you can find it also on Spotify: but let me please say a word about Spotify... as nice as it is to just stream everything you want, many of you won't know how little Spotify actually pay artists.
Very, very little: to the point that some labels are removing their entire catalogues from the streaming service althogether.
Check out this article to get an idea of how little is "very, very little".

At the same time, we decided to keep out music there because little is still better than nothing - YouTube for instace, which these days is the first place where people listen to music and discover new artists, allow illegal streaming even if it's theorically against their own policies.

End of story: be informed, do stream our music from Spotify as much as you want, but if you really like what you hear, do think about buying it.
The best place to do it? Still our Bandcamp store, of course!

But this is not all: because today Deathwatch Asia released digitally also Behind The Mask, the bonus album made of remixes and b-sides that accompanied the limited Japanes edition of Drop The Mask released in 2010. For those who have it already, you'll see the tracklist is slightly different, including exclusive versions of One True God and Ready2Go, this one present also with the Faderhead remix, and one of the runner-ups of the competition originally held for the album: the Bentley Bones remix of Out For Blood.

Enjoy!

X: A Decade Of Decadence October 27, 2011, 12:06:pm
We've hinted at and teased, but now we are ready to announce it: the maxi EP X: A Decade Of Decadence will be out on December 2nd, 2011 on limited digipack by DWA as well as being distributed through iTunes, Spotify, Beatport, Emusic and many other networks.

Can't wait? NO PROBLEM! X is available right now exclusively via our digital store at Bandcamp!

X: A Decade Of Decadence by XP8

One of the first reviews we got, ten whole years ago, described us in a way that perfectly caught the whole idea behind XP8:
XP8 composes an airy blend of EBM, electronica, techno and trance, bringing their various visions and talents to life with synthetic vibrancy and danceable beats, crossing electronic genres with relative ease.Aimed at the heart of the dancefloor, the music keeps listeners moving through the night in timeless waves, emitting subtle hints of the 1980s while slipping easily into sounds of the new millennium: glitchy patterns, sharp simulated strings, and clear vocals travel through bright sequences and brooding atmospheres.

With those very words in mind, we decided to go back to our roots and record seven new songs where we play around the futurepop genre and twist it to accommodate our multifaceted influences, mixing and mingling it to create once again the aural alchemy we become known for.

After three records, two EPs and six years, the route we shared with Infacted Recordings came to its natural end, and from now on XP8 will continue its travel on its own feet, embracing completely the digital revolution that redefined the rules and regulations of the music business: we have already been distributing digitally our back catalogue through TuneCore for the past two years, and recently we added also our own direct digital store on the Bandcamp platform. Now we are ready to take the extra step, and start releasing directly also our new material.

Still, we also wanted to keep our music pressed on actual CDs, and to do that we renewed our partnership with one of the most dynamic, focused and committed record label in the Electro Industrial scene: DWA.

We call X a EP, but it's way more than that: it comprises 7 brand new songs and 3 reworks of tracks that marked XP8's history, made by Aesthetic Perfection, Autodafeh and Tom Napack of Vanity Police.

And yes, in case you are wondering after having listened to it: the voice on Trip is indeed that of Stewart Who?, with whom we collaborated again after that fantastic performance together at the Resistanz Festival in Sheffield, UK, where we rocked our own remix version of the classic, platinum-selling club hit Twisted by Wayne G (which you can listen here, in case you still haven't heard it!). Here's Marko and Stewart right before starting recording the vocals:

(...and by the way, speaking of the Resistanz Festival, Marco will be featured among the DJ lineup next year as well, when the festival will return for its second edition - more infos here)

So don't wait any further and go grab the digital version from our Bandcamp store right now!
Or head over the DWA's website to get the limited digipack, which will also include exclusively the video tracks for The Art Of Revenge and The God Particle, previously available only digitally.

This should be enough news and audio to keep you all satisfied for a while!

And don't forget that we'll play along with Aesthetic Perfection and Surgyn next month at The Classic Grand in Glasgow, UK, and more dates are being planned for Spring 2012.

- XP8 out.

official digital store debuts at BANDCAMP September 13, 2011, 05:18:am
Always fashionably late, we launched our Bandcamp digital store today!
Here you'll be able to download directly from us most of our releases, as well some new ones, in your choice of MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

Some of you might have noticed two never-seen before albums in the list: these are Behind The Mask and Still Frames.

Behind The Mask is a compilation made of remixes and b-sides that were originally featured on the 2CD Japanese Edition of Drop The Mask, released by Deathwatch Asia and limited to 200 copies.
This digital edition features 3 exclusive tracks never released anywhere else: Out For Blood (Bentley Bones Reflip), and our own Mk 2.3 versions of One True God and Ready2Go
Check the official Deathwatch Asia website for more news on the actual digital release of these songs.

Immediately available for download is Still Frames, a digital re-issue of the two EPs Still Lives and Frames, both originally published in 2006 as part of the two compilations Infact1on Two (Infacted Recordings) and Fourplay Vol.1 (Nilaihah Records).
Exclusive to this re-issue, the Angel Theory remix of Purity.

And if this still wasn't enough, we spiced it all up a bit more by adding the videos of The Art Of Revenge and The God Particle in the album downloads of the relative releases: many of you asked us where to actually get those videos, instead of just watching them on YouTube... well, now you know where!
