I'm playing Electric Picnic. Electric fucking Picnic. ME!! This is the biggest Irish music festival, and one of the biggest European festivals. Anyone who plays there is pretty much instantly famous as the place is crawling with producers and execs, and getting a slot there is fucking impossible. And I got offered a TWO HOUR slot just because my friend's boss (who works with the festival management) heard my cover of Zombie, loved it and instantly offered me a slot when he realised my friend actually knew the singer.
This is like, the biggest break any musician in Ireland can EVER get, and it's something that pretty much no musician in Ireland ever gets a chance to do. Like, Interpol and Arcade Fire played last year at it. It's a HUGE deal.
And I got it!! ME!!
