On July 4th, 1776, a great nation was nobly founded on several principles in which our forefathers believed as an inherent right for every man, woman, and child. Somewhere along the line, our pursuit of happiness translated into our culture as a pursuit of commercial goods. Somewhere along the line, our government and free-market system stopped caring for its citizens and prioritized a hidden agenda. Things are terribly wrong and need to change. The BP oil spill will change the world so horribly (but lets please DO something to ensure a positive change out of this - a change in culture and values). Natural gas companies are polluting people's drinking water all over our nation... they pollute the ground/well water to the point where it is combustible. The products you purchase are designed (planned obsoletion)to break as quickly as possible. Face it, we toy with nature and technology and believe that there is a solution to every problem - "every" problem but a healthy, bountiful, sustainable way to live. Face it, we are all EXPENDABLE. You mean nothing to the government. I believe we need to change. If only we could unite.. the only problem is - our generation doesn't care. In Vietnam kids were willing to spill their own blood for a way out of the war, and a peaceful lifestyle.
