Profile: Dark electronic, industrial, EBM, gothic rock, classical, cabaret and art song... all are vibrant influences on this new album by Dead Red Velvet. Toronto-based composer Karl Mohr rebrands his goth machine and unrolls the moniker Dead Red Velvet for the release of this latex-slick masterwork, "Full Moon Film". With vast, towering electronic arrangements, the album production has been underway for five years, resulting Mohr's most tooled soundscape to date. It boasts the solid quality of a 'best of' album, highlighting Mohr at his best: inviting dark atmospheres, monstrous guitar and synth grooves, relentless dance tracks, clever sound design, intelligent lyrics rich in mystery, and his trademark vocal style.Sounds Like: The specific aim is to cross-crush the heady pulse of new genres like minimal techno and EBM with rich historical flavors like medieval, baroque and classical. Ergo slotted into goth, swelling with romanticism but generally skirting gothic norms. (Deadmau5 vs Dead Kennedys vs Dead Can Dance. Minus vs 4AD.)Influences: Rolling Stones, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Thomas Dolby, Vicious Pink, Marc Almond, Claude Debussy, Danny Elfman, Skinny Puppy, Interpol, Muse, Cab Calloway... rich music with guts and sense, style and wordplay.Homepage: http://www.deadredvelvet.com/ Link 1: http://www.multibeatrecords.com/ Link 2: http://www.karlmohr.com/ Link 3: http://www.facebook.com/deadredvelvet
