BIOGRAPHY:
Nullifer and CandyBones met in 2004, where he Nullifer moved to Italy from Chicago USA to stay with her. From then, they created Spectrum-X.
In the same year, they released their demo CD, "Dreambook", which was a self produced, roughly recorded strange metal mix. This demo was inspired mostly by Halloween.
In 2005, Spectrum-X began to work on their first full length album, Tea Party with Zombies, which was more Industrial Metal style, released in late 2006. This album was hugely inspired by the theme of Alice in Wonderland, but with a twisted, darker and Gothic approach. Along with this album, Spectrum-X created a music video for the song "Slow", directed by Pananu Productions.
In 2007, they met Kiwamu, the guitarist of BLOOD (a Japanese band) and owner of the Japanese Record label, Darkest Labyrinth, which Spectrum-X were soon placed under for music distribution in Japan in 2008. In the same year, 2007, Spectrum-X released their first Single CD, "Gnomes Bones", which also included the music video, directed by Mirco Andreas. The song itself is based mostly on a Fairy Tale theme of thievish Gnomes, the video also followed the lines of a Fairy Tale, where the band themselves were depicted as Mannequins. In 2008, they released their 2nd full length album, "Darkest Night Ever". This album's theme was a mix of Victorian Gothic Fairy Tales and a more Futuristic second half, speaking from the point of view of two alien creatures, who are now trapped in the Present day of Human Kind, speaking of Plasma weapons, Electric based life forms and their home planet. The second half featured Spectrum-X's side project, TraumaFactor (A more electronic sounding project using futuristic influences. This project exists no more), songs, which they remade into Spectrum-X songs as the 2nd half of that album.
Later on that year, Spectrum-X were invited to tour Japan, where they played shows in Osaka and Tokyo, as well as making a few in store appearances and DJ'd a few clubs. They then decided to go back to the start of their music career, and re-record their first album, "Tea Parties With Zombies", under the Japanese record label, Darkest Labyrinth.
In 2009, Spectrum-X were lucky enough to bag a gig in the US, in Hollywood, California at 'The Knitting Factory'.
In June 2010, Spectrum-X returned to tour in Japan to promote the re-release of "Tea Party with Zombies" and the release of the record label, Darkest Labyrinth, Compilation CD, "Darkest Labyrinth: Volume 2" (released in 2010), which contained their song, "12 Clock Strikes".
2011 was a beginning of a new start to the band, where they decided to remove most of the electric guitar and acoustic instruments from their music to pursue their roots in the Electro-Industrial music. Currently, they are working on their 4th full length album, which is due to be released in October 2011. The album will be released under Darkest Labyrinth and will also be released under the European record label TraumaFactor (Spectrum-X's own label, named after a past side project). |
