She awoke with the wind knocked out of her, and aches running through her small, fragile body. A girl of only twelve years, she wondered fleetingly how she had gotten herself tangled up in the woods like this. Looking around, the girl noticed it was dark and the eerie shade from the trees made it even darker. Suddenly, flashbacks ran through her head, whipping around corners and cutting off edges. A dark face flashed repetitively through her mind and she realize that sitting there in the words, at night time, with the wind knocked out of her, might not just be a flattering coincidence. Getting to her feet carefully, trying out her limbs to make sure that they were all working in proper order, she bent herself into a crouched position. Her hair flew about her face as she whipped her head around ardently.
Overwhelming blackness clouded her vision and a hand flew over her mouth, another grabbing around her neck, holding her in a way that she was sure she was about to either die or pass out.
"Don't you dare say a fucking word." A voice growled in her ear, right as she became limp in the strangers arms.
