The Psychopathic's

For those who seek the truth, the Insane Clown Posse (ICP) are a success story that baffles the so-called "experts," and defies all the rules of the music industry. Defiance has been a defining characteristic of ICP and Psychopathic Records since the beginning. Their tale begins with poor suburban kids lost in the streets of Southwest Detroit, and peaks with over ten RIAA certified albums and DVDs, including the Billboard Top 200's longest running hip-hop album--an unprecedented success for a group with no major label support, and no radio or MTV airtime. With little to no outside funding, and in spite of harsh criticism, they have managed to produce a feature film, almost a dozen music videos, a documentary film, live concert DVDs, interactive CDs, and a legendary stage show that includes theatrical sets, revolving costumes, giant crowd-spraying props, and thousands of gallons of Faygo pop. With the Hell's Pit album, they have achieved a certified World Record, for creating the first ever High Definition 3-D video! In their spare time, they show off their wrestling talent, in each of the major wrestling federations, and in their own Juggalo Championshit Wrestling circuit. Their activities culminate with the annual Gathering of the Juggalos--an ever-growing concert-festival extravaganza, which regularly sees over 7,000 in attendance. With all these commercial achievements, one might wonder where the bad rap comes from. Be warned, the story of how two kids in face paint went from small-time gang-bangers to monsters of the music industry is as amazing as the music itself.

MONOXIDE & JAMIE MADROX

The streets ain't easy.
Fear can crawl in no matter what your skin color or your zip code is.
The sound of gunshots outside your home will get you, change you, compel you.
It makes you want to scream, it helps you find a voice.
It's the kind of life you must embrace or forsake.
This is where Blaze comes in.

Blaze started rapping when he was just 17. He was still in high school, and still a young punk known as Chris Rouleau, when he started spittin' rhymes for his friends. Before long he was jumpin' in and puttin' it down at local shows in the streets of "Clemtown" on Detroit's East Side, where his skills and style earned him a reputation. Chris grew up on the typical Detroit Rock City bands: KISS, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, even Journey and J. Geils, but he was also drawn to the rap acts he would come to emulate: Slick Rick, LL Cool J, Run DMC, and particularly the thug styling of NWA and Ice-T. He was driven to be involved with the music he loved, and started rapping locally as "Sandman" His first big show was at the Ritz in Roseville, where he opened for the House of Krazees, alongside his friend Jaime Lowery. Ironically, House of Krazees would go on to become his future label-mates Twiztid, and Jaime would become ABK, Blaze's future partner in Drive-By. He struck up a friendship with those guys, which he maintains to this day.During this time he tried many partnerships and joined several groups, including one known as Sleepwalkers. The Sleepwalkers album was produced by The R.O.C.(of House of Krazees), and was one of many that never came out or never made it (though Chris remembers a kid named Eminem hanging around the studio, learning a thing or two). Chris was ready to give up rapping, when his old friends told him they were joining a label called Psychopathic Records, and encouraged him to come along.

The wicked streets of Atlanta blend with the dirty swamps of Newton County in the guise of Boondox, Psychopathic's own Skarcrow. Hailing from the deep Southern town of Covington, GA, Boondox delivers a unique take on wicked hip hop. As ICP's Violent J recently commented, "What makes Boondox automatically so different from the rest of the Fam, is that he's not just about the blocks, he's about the crops... He's not from the streets but from the fields. Boondox is to music what Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, The Devils Rejects and Wrong Turn are to movies. That back woods, country, crazy, hillbilly shit is straight up scary!" Before signing with Psychopathic, Boondox spent several years involved with various other rap and rock projects in Georgia, including droppin' several underground mix tapes. His full length Hatchet debut, The Harvest has top-notch production by the one and only Mike E. Clark, who held nothing back on the project. Recorded at both the Fun House studio and the Lotus Pod in Detroit, Boondox tears it up over everything from Southern sounding banjo and harmonica loops to Clark's patented sick-ass drum beats, crisp guitars, and fat bass drops. Clark and Boondox even recruited Tino Grosse from Detroit's legendary Southern Funk band The Howling Diablos to help lay a haunting, heavy riff on the track Outhere. The Harvest album also features guest appearances by labelmates Twiztid, Blaze, AMB and ICP

ABK, born James Lowery, was raised on the eastside of Detroit with an upbringing surrounded by his Native American culture. Being the son of a preacher, he got the advantage of always sitting up front, right next to the piano in church. It was there he began his love and passion for music. To hear the music from the piano, and the voices from the choir sending such strong messages, gave him such a feeling, that feeling gave him inspiration. He started making music as a young child with anything he could find to make instruments. He participated in Native American schools and in POW–wow competitions. His techniques in traditional and fancy dancing gave him a rhythm to express feeling threw his music and began writing his own songs at 13 years old. By the age of 15, all the kids in the neighborhood were paying $2- $4, to watch him perform “live” in his garage. When they kept coming back for more, he took it to the streets and began starting a name for himself. In 1995 came Krazy Klan, a group formed by himself as Jaymo, and his childhood friend Lavel as J-ho. In that year they released their first album titled “Fustrationz”, then releasing their second album titled “develop MENTAL”, in 1999. During this time they were doing shows at local hot spots and underground basement parties. In the year 2000, the Krazy Klan broke up and ABK went solo, changing his name to Native Funk, and released his first solo album titled “Rain from the Sun”. After the album, ABK was introduced to Blaze and became his partner in crime, changing his name to Anybody Killa, who we all know today as ABK! In 2001 he began touring the country with Blaze as the opening act for I.C.P and Twiztid. ABK was getting such a huge response from the crowd; Psychopathic Records signed him to their label as a solo artist. In 2003, he released his first solo album on Psychopathic, titled “Hatchet Warrior”, followed by “Dirty History” in 2004, and “Road Fools”, ABK’s first DVD/EP in 2005. ABK featured on almost every Psychopathic album released in the time he was there. He was also a member of the Psychopathic groups Dark Lotus, and Rydas and formed a project group of himself and Blaze, known as Drive-By, and released a prelude album titled “Pony Down” in 2005. From 2001 thru 2005, ABK had traveled the country on 13 different tours. In February of 2006, it was announced that ABK parted ways with Psychopathic Records due to contract differences. ABK continued to pursue his career, releasing albums and merchandise from his own Native World label/company.In 2007, ABK surprised Juggalos everywhere by coming back to the Main Stage at the Gathering of the Juggalos.Within a few months he was back in talks with his homies from Psychopathic Records, and in early 2008,the Juggalo world was rocked by the news that he had returned to Psychopathic! With his Hatchet homies at his back, ABK is preparing to keep takin that Native Funk worldwide. He continues to perform and record, and his next release,Mudface,is due out from Psychopathic in 2008

The group's original lineup consisted of Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope), Twiztid (Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child). The four members recorded the single "Echoside", (which also appeared on Insane Clown Posse's Amazing Jeckel Brothers album). In early 1999, they recorded "I Don't Care", but did not release it until 2001. During ICP's Bizaar/Bizzar tour in 2000, underground rapper Marz became good friends with Violent J, and was asked to join the Dark Lotus. The six artists went to work and recorded the group's first full-length, Tales from the Lotus Pod. The album was released at the 2001 Gathering of the Juggalos, where they also gave their first performance. After the Gathering, Marz left the group. ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze then set out on the Hatchet Rizing Tour, where they all did their own sets and then, to close the show, came out as Dark Lotus. Around Halloween, a special Hallowicked comic was put out about Dark Lotus, giving them supernatural powers. On Twiztid's 2001's Cryptic Collection Vol. 2, "Drunken Ninja Master"—with Anybody Killa—was credited as a Dark Lotus song. The following year, Tales from the Lotus Pod was re-released in a new version with Marz's vocals removed—replaced in most instances with new vocals by ABK. In April 2004, the group released their next album, Black Rain, followed by a tour. In 2006, Blender ranked the album's title track #6 on their "Most Gruesome Lyrics... Ever!" list. On February 4, 2006, it was announced that ABK had left Psychopathic Records and Dark Lotus. At the 2006 Gathering of the Juggalos, both ICP and Twiztid claimed they would not replace ABK. During Lotus' performance at the event, ABK and Marz' verses were skipped over. The next day at Twiztid's seminar, Monoxide claimed that Lotus was done and that no more CDs would be recorded, but they would continue to perform. Later that year, however, Violent J stated in an interview that Dark Lotus would record again. It was recently announced that a new Dark Lotus album is in progress. In the recently released album Psychopathics from Outer Space 3, they performed the song "Further Away". There is also a page in the booklet that states 2008 is the "year of the Lotus", in reference to the new album being produced by Dark Lotus. On the Jan. 10th 2007 episode of The Main Event, Violent J said that they have been working harder then ever on the new Lotus album, and working on it has given all of Psychopathic so much happiness. In the January edition of "Weekly Freekly Weekly" the title and release date were officially announced. The album will be called "The Opaque Brotherhood" and it is due out on April 15, 2008. On April 8th, 2008, Shaggy 2 Dope told the Juggalos on WFuckOff Radio that despite popluar rumors, Anybody Killa would not be on the The Opaque Brotherhood or the tour.
Other:

DJ Clay got his start with Psychopathic Records by workin the turntables at all their biggest parties and events. One day he was workin the party scene in Southwest Detroit, the next he was the man behind the music at the Big Balla Xmas Party, the JCW Cancer Charity Event covered by Fox News, and Twiztid's Man's Myth CD Release Party. In fact, he's melted the wax at nearly every Detroit-area Psychopathic party over the last eight years. In 2006, Shaggy 2 Dope took DJ Clay to the next level, when he asked him to be his personal, live DJ on the F.T.F.O Tour. Shaggy's always had a feel for the turntable, and as a respected scratchmaster himself, he wanted the vinyl style represented at his shows. Clay was the man for the job, and freaked it for the Juggalos on every date of the tour. The Hatchet had found a match, and soon ICP together asked Clay to DJ all their tours. To date, he's been on five tours, including The Tempest and two Hallowickeds! By the end of 2007, he'd also contributed to five Psychopathic albums. It was only a matter of time before he set up his wheels of steel in the Lotus Pod, and the whole Hatchet family kept him workin: as a scratcher, a producer, a remixer, and all-around vinyl vandal! His album credits with Psychopathic artists include: ICP The Tempest and Forgotten Freshness 4, Twiztid Independents Day, Boondox Punkinhed, and Psychopathics From Outer Space Part 3. Now, all this work is shining like diamonds with the Let 'Em Bleed Mixxtapes. He's scoopin up all the Hatchet flavor he can find and mixing together in his own style. These Mixxtapes bring a whole new sound to all new music from the voices you've grown to love: Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, Madrox, Monoxide, Blaze, Boondox, plus The R.O.C. and Esham! That's an impressive resume, and it's growing with every volume! With homies like that, and his owns skills at producing, mixing, and scratching, The DJ Clay: Let 'Em Bleed Mixxtapes are the bomb! Bomb enough to be the first releases from the Hatchet House, and they're gonna keep dropping, like the bomb-ass flavor you'd expect, with the whole Hatchet Family together on these Mixxtapes!
