Profile: Madison; (Noun, Singular) An over caffinated, questionably depraved imitation of a human being; unashamedly unsociable, consistently convoluted, persistently paradoxical, and a whomping great dweeb. I've noticed that, on these social networking things, if you speak highly of yourself, you're an arrogant prick. And if you don't, you're needy and have low self esteem. Here's my best attempt at finding a happy medium. First and foremost, I'm really, really not on VampireFreaks very often. Please don't take the lack of a reply to mean anything other than that I've forgotten to check on this thing. I'll almost definitely get back to you, it might just take me a while. I'm a bit of an aesthete and a bit of a hedonist, but I don't have my head in the clouds or my morals in the gutter. I don't take myself too seriously, but when push comes to shove I'm good with srs business. I've got a pretty dark sense of humour, but otherwise, don't let the big black boots and Bauhaus fool you - I'm generally a fairly optimistic, balanced and approachable person, or so I like to think. I'm avidly interested in philosophy (beyond the usual 'Gott ist Tott'), politics (I lean to the Right, but the sane right that is still kicking around in Europe, not the Jaysus-Invoking crazy Fox News Right), sociology, art, human sexuality and psychology (because the former is a really fascinating manifestation of the latter, not because I'm a pree-vert), science fiction, and just about every branch and field of science. I want to see the world, chase zombies or graboids through abandoned city streets, find the Higgs Boson, travel back through time to give Alan Turing a high-five, and then go out in a blaze of sword-swinging glory. A girl has got to have dreams, no? I have an eye for detail, and I tend to watch people to a level that makes them uncomfortable. I don't mean to be odd, you're just all so pretty and fascinating. If I'm being a little over-attentive, it just means I think you're interesting. I should probably put a catchy closing line here, so that I come across as witty and charismatic. Likes: (I lose interest in things quickly, which is why I loathe filling these things in. Really, you'd be better off asking.) Being an unabashedly ginormous geek. Coherent, literate and articulate People. Coffee. Art (My taste in art flits often, so feel free to inquire into specifics at any given time, but I probably won't give the same answer twice), Cigarettes Zombies Escapism - generally any excuse to ignore the real world is fine by me. Vidya, All those interesting bits of politically incorrect history that get overlooked by the majority, Comic Books (I'm a Transmet fiend in particular), Sci-fi, Reading, especially the works of ; Julius Evola, George Orwell, Vladimir Nabokov, Marquis De Sade, Descartes, Albert Camus, Patrick McGrath, Hunter S Thompson, HP Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman, William Gibson, Clive Barker, Phillip K Dick, Isaac Asimov, Stephen King (less his thrillers and more the Dark Tower series, but I'm enjoyed a few other things of his too), Oscar Wilde, Max Brooks, Craig Clevenger, Will Christopher Baer, Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, Glen Duncan, Jeff VanderMeer. Dislikes: Bad English, Fnords, Unoriginality, Ferocious Mongol Hordes, Ultra-Liberal Douchebags, Trendy Ironic Records, Mainstream Media "Fact", Marxists, Tangled Headphone Cords.
