About Me

It's actually complete nonsense to write a section "about me". You can't get to know a person trough some lines they wrote. With so many fakes over the internet it's hardly to tell what's real and what's not any way.
So I'm not going to tell you I'm a nice or interesting person. You can decide that for yourself.

Being nineteen is not as terrible as I thought it would be, even though turning twenty scares the hell out of me. I don't want to grow up yet, but people already expect so much responsibility from me. And the worst thing is: they're right.
At the moment I study illustration at the academy of arts. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world when I was accepted, but I'm not sure about my luck any more. It's hard work, and even though I'm ambitious, I lack motivation. It's a good thing I work better under pressure, even though stress makes me ill.
It all sounds so contradicting, my characteristics. And those aren't the only ones that are fighting. My complete lack of concentration doesn't effect me at all when I get lost in a book. I love to escape reality. Writing a book might actually be my oldest ambition.
I have two hobbies. Some people would call them passions, but that sounds too dramatic if you ask me. My first and oldest one is playing the clarinet. I started when I was nine years old and I don't think I will ever completely stop playing. Not again. My other hobby is - oh God, here it comes - photography. It never really interested me, but then I got into art school and you start taking pictures because you have to. Half a year later you buy a DSLR and another year later you've spend a ridiculous amount of money on new gear already. But it's word every cent and I can honestly say I've grown since I first started. For those who actually care, I own a PentaxK10d with a 18-55 kitlens a Tamron 17-50 f2.8, a Sigma 30-700, some fancy filters and a tripod. I really want a lensbaby, even though they're pretty useless.
My playlist is filled with [hardcore]punk, southern hardcore, metalcore and some other genres. You can find me at gigs pretty often. Not as often as a while ago any more, alas. I also enjoy classical music and film music. Especially Danny Elfman.

This probably did not make me look very cheerful, but I'm not too bad, I'm Robin. A nineteen year old girl from the Netherlands. Nice to meet you.

Wishlist: lensbaby, Shaw tin whistle, flasher, new shoes, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, more books and world peace of course.
