DeadStar Assembly To Release "Coat Of Arms"

DeadStar Assembly is sunny South Florida's darkside, a troupe of musical avant-gardes that deliver a sinister sound that burns. Like demented seraphim, DSA's poisonous blend of industrial metal is about to set the world ablaze once again with no apologies. Their self-titled debut went on to sell over 15,000 units independently. Their 2006 sophomore release "Unsaved" eclipsed those figures and would gain the band respect and loyalty worldwide! Now… four years have past since their last studio incision and DSA have reemerged from Florida's underbelly, unleashing a musical attack aptly titled "Coat Of Arms". "It's definitely a new unbridled chapter for the band", states Dearborn, DSA's mastermind, lead vocalist and orchestrator of mayhem. "We returned from the ’Unsaved’ tour battered and mentally on the fringe, the band wasn't getting along and we opted for internal genocide, the aftermath… enlist new blood and immediately start writing new songs.“ The brooding sense of frustration and anger needed to be harnessed and become the band's muse, the result… a stylistically refined record with definitive edge. It is menacing yet mature, an unrestrained aural assault. The DSA wreckage served as the perfect catalyst to create the strongest material and DSA line-up to date, the band had something to prove to their fans and to themselves.

Enter new drummer Kriz D.K. (Beatings & Hysteria) to the fold. Kriz was brought into the band’s inner sanctum without even making a public announcement; they sought new blistered hands and held auditions behind closed doors. The band was able to expand their percussive horizons with Kriz, he brought new life to the songwriting process. Kriz is fast, young and exudes an angst the band desperately needed. His licks and performance helped elevate the songs and "Coat Of Arms" as a whole.

Original keyboardist MUBO (Synths & Circuitry) was exited from the band prior to the release of "Unsaved"; personal meltdown and turmoil came to a head after a show in March 2006. But meanwhile, MUBO has returned to the DSA ranks and became an integral weapon in the "Coat Of Arms" war machine. Once writing began for "Coat Of Arms", communication opened up again between MUBO and DSA after a long silence. They started to swap ideas and MUBO made a guest appearance on a few songs, the fans loved the idea and demanded him back. The medicated time bomb was asked to return to the stage and perform with the band in September 2009. The show was elated, it was like the early days, the camaraderie was still intact, his performance was violent… erotic, DSA killed that night.

"Coat Of Arms" came naturally but was extremely time consuming to produce, multiple technical failures plagued the final stretch of recording. "We were tracking the song ’F.Y.G’ and all of a sudden the hard drive with all the session work crashes, simultaneously the back up drives fail as well. We were all freaking the fuck out", states guitarist Dreggs. "We thought we lost everything, but it deemed a blessing in disguise.“ During the long and arduous hard drive recovery process, the band decided to reach out to their original producer OSS and asked if he wanted to inject his twisted electronica and put his stamp on the new album. DSA sought more artillery to make up for lost time, OSS obliged almost in an instant. The two hadn't worked together since 2003 so it was the perfect opportunity to reinvent their authentic style of black magic. The ensemble connected big time, the collaboration was extremely fierce, "Coat Of Arms" was reborn!

With their much anticipated 3rd album "Coat Of Arms" under their studded belts, DSA has inked an exclusive album release deal with Hot Topic in the U.S. and signed with the label Spiralchords for Europe. The albums phonic darkness builds into a tsunami of crushing guitars, razor blade vocals, blistering leads and big hooks. It is a middle finger to the mundane with aggressive rapid fire to ignite your inner deviance. With their army of dedicated fans behind them, DeadStar Assembly is ready to launch it's musical delirium into the masses with "Coat Of Arms".
