I agree! And yet, ironically, Gen 3 was when I started to kind of get out of Pokemon. Pearl version is what got me back into it, and it was only after that that I went back and played FireRed and Emerald. But really, Gen 1-2 do hold a special place in my heart because I grew up with that, probably why I love the remakes so much! But yeah, berries and abilities and all that stuff have added a whole new level to the series.
That said, I can totally why some people think Gen 2 was the last good gen, even if I don't agree with it. But, Gen 2 added SO MUCH to the series, I just can't understand why anyone would like Red/Blue and say Gold/Silver suck.
