(I'm not great at writing these things, just a warning lol...) I'm ZoAnn, 18 years old from Ohio, a freshman at Ohio Wesleyan University. I'm studying Music Education, but I might switch to a BA in performance, and minor in History. Not sure... I had my life figured out (or so I thought) when I went into college. But a lot of things have become so blurred for me... life... love... I'm a mess.
Because I KNOW you're going to ask, my major instrument is Clarinet, but I also play saxophone (LEAD alto sax for the Park Avenue Jazz Ensemble in fact,) and because I'm an education major, I have to learn to play ALL the other instruments. I am currently learning other woodwinds (flute, oboe, bassoon...,) and string istruments. I hope to one day hold a degree in woodwind performance and pedagogy (which means I'll be a PRO at flutes, saxes, clarinets, AND double reeds.) I want to use this degree to have my own woodwind studio, and perform in small ensembles like chamber ensembles, pit orchestras, and I'd love to be a studio artist :)
I personally find myself to be a boring individual, even if you get to know me, and unless you're a member of my family, getting to know me is a pretty hard task.

N My favorite colors are orange and blue
N When I smoke, it is socially; if I'm not literally hanging out with friends, I will NOT smoke. I keep my cigarettes hidden away until I'm out with friends. I've never smoked alone, nor do I plan to. Smoking simply gives my hands something to do while I'm hanging out. I have an anxiety when I'm out with people, especially when I'm drinking... so it's more of just a thing to do. I don't plan to ever be a true cigarette smoker. I surprisingly don't crave them throughout the week.
N I LOVE my curves! And yes, I'm curvy; overweight a little but I am going to eat healthier in college and I'll be walking a LOT to get HEALTHY, not skinny! I am DAMN happy with my body!
N I donated 10" of my hair to the Syrian Shrine Burn Center in May 2011
N I have two cats and a dog. I miss them SOOOO much when I'm at OWU.
N I LOVE history. I can spend hours reading about the history of things on the internet. I also eventually want to spend some time working for a museum.
N I'll admit I'm extremely weird and a big old contradiction sometimes. I don't think when I'm caught up in my emotions and I have a lot of after-thought following an arguement. I'm dramatic sometimes, but I am emotionally driven.
N I registered to vote before I left home for college. I didn't choose a party.
N If I receive a rose or a bouquet of roses, I will hang atleast one upside down, let it dry and keep it. I have about 6 dried roses that mean the world to me. You know you're special when I save a rose you gave me.
N Speaking of flowers, my favorite is the Hybiscus. Any variety is acceptable; I love them all! I have one hybiscus plant with red blooms, and I hope to keep it my whole life.
N I used to be a pretty big rollercoaster freak. If I had the time and money, I'd still spend everyday of my summer at Kings Island, riding my favorite coaster The Vortex (the orange and blue coaster haha.)

Let me just say I don't like a LOT of things and to make a list takes thought. I'll get around to it some day during my summer.

My music taste matters to me, and I know ones music taste can matter to a lot of people. However, I don't like that people may choose to judge me by my music tastes. It's inhuman to be honest; it’s just music. Sure, it can define cultures and people but I'll listen to whatever the fuck I want and I'll be damn happy with it.
I'll get around to compiling a bands list very soon. For the time being here are a few of my main tunes:
