Profile: Likes: ASilentEnigma, rain, wooded areas, music, hypersensitivity, books, poetry, light breezes, daydreaming, dark elegance, Lisa Gerrard, parapsychology, cemeteries, melancholy, learning, the smell of a new book or CD, Romanticism, nature's music, reading, the flirtatious shadows in the corners of my room :), abnormal psychology, solitude, dancing in the dark, winter, period films, the night of October 1, 2005... (when Dead Can Dance came to Toronto to perform live :) ...I have never, EVER felt as transported as I did that night; they are magical and truly of another world), classic literature, epiphanies and awakenings, blindfolds, old buildings, shy people, autumn, our sense of touch, the inner child, hands, altered states of mind and being without the aid of drugs, sleep, dreams, water, cathedrals, silence, stars, the moon, misty mornings, dreary days, and the night. I'm happiest when everyone else is feeling depressed from the weather. I don't know why. Dislikes: Most people, relapses, animal cruelty, muscularity, badly designed and cluttered websites or profiles, television, excessive spelling and grammar errors, CULT INVITES -- I am NOT interested!, strangers giving me suggestive looks, crowds, my memory problems, spinning/sparkling/flashing graphics, fluorescent/bright colours, the name of this site, and when people can't spell the names of their favourite authors right. Favorite Music: Band List: Die Verbannten Kinder Eva's, Dead Can Dance, Dargaard, Gothica, Faith and the Muse, Ozymandias, The Cure, Gothica, Bauhaus, Autumn, In the Nursery, Avrigus, Dark Sanctuary, Sisters of Mercy, Ataraxia, Lycia, Florence + the Machine, Bel Canto, Black Rose, Clan of Xymox, the Changelings, Diary of Dreams, Peter Murphy, Arcana, Arcanta, Switchblade Symphony, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Anathema, Ophelia's Dream, Le Triste Sire, sToa, Autumn Tears, Raison d'etre, early Cradle of Filth, In Gowan Ring, Smashing Pumpkins, Qntal, Love is Colder than Death, Sophia, This Mortal Coil, Angels of Venice, Coil, Lisa Gerrard, In Slaughter Natives, All My Faith Lost..., Tristania, Sex Gang Children, The Protagonist, Leonard Cohen, Enya, Autumn's Grey Solace, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Vision Bleak, Annabelle's Garden, Strange Boutique, VNV Nation, Current 93, Ikon, Desiderii Marginis, Seabound, Unto Ashes, Death in June, Remanence, Cocteau Twins, Marissa Nadler, Diamanda Galas, Azam Ali, Elend, Of the Wand and the Moon, Midnight Syndicate, Rome, Mediaeval Baebes, Cradle of Thorns, Inkubus Sukkubus, Mephisto Walz, Sopor Aeternus, Rasputina, Virgin Black, Aepril Schaile and the Judgement, Persephone, In My Rosary, Tool, Mazzy Star, Engelsstaub, Human Drama, Trobar de Morte, Ordo Funebris, Cranes, Mellonta Tauta, Sleeping Dogs Wake, Mirabilis, PJ Harvey ("White Chalk"), Goldmund, Moon Far Away, Blonde Redhead, Les Jumeaux Discordants, Loreena McKennittSecret Garden, Falling You, Faun, Nico, Louisa John-Krol, and so, SO many more... Band / Lyric of the Moment Saloman hung down her head, laid bare her heart For the world to see, she craved for intimacy Through darkened doors her aspect veiled with indecision Gazed out to sea, she craved lucidity Cast adrift from past relationships in her life Hoisted up the ideal, this was her saving grace Seas of rage that once assailed her concern for the truth Had passed her by and left her high and dry In her saviour's arms... Across the sea lies the fountain of renewal Where you will see the whole cause of your loneliness Can be measured in dreams that transcend all these lies And I wish and I pray that there may come a day For a saviour's arms... Dead Can Dance - "Enigma of the Absolute" Among the first songs I heard from this great band... Do I really need to elaborate on the lyrics or why I felt the need to post it up? I'm just having one of those days where you rediscover bands you've known for a while, and this song has stood out more than the rest so far... Dead Can Dance will always, ALWAYS be on my top 5 favourite bands of all time. I already had the great honour and chance of seeing them live once and I will do almost anything to see them again.
