About Me (A quick glance) ~Bisexual~ ~Engaged~ ~Goth Chick~ ~Reader~ ~Watch very few moview~ ~Get along well with people~ ~...but prefer to avoid them~ Fav Books: So I graduated highschool, went to a lame ass community college and was still working the same McDonalds job that I had since I was 16. After I finished a semester of school I decided to do something extreme and join the Army. I went through basic training and the only real lesson I learned was that no matter how much you'll do for people, help them out, if for whatever reason the roles are reversed and you need help (say because you've fucked up your wrist and ended up in a hard cast that makes it difficult to use your right hand) most will never return the favor. AIT was the college experience I never had. It was enough to make me realize that I'm very glad I missed out on that part of life. You see, in basic they take away all your freedoms. Honestly, military jail is slightly nicer than basic (at least according to my friend's ex). There is no source of entertainment except the people around you. You lose all the luxturies of life. The main things people miss (besides their loved ones and families) is sex, booze, and cigarettes. So yeah, AIT, freedom to do all of that and more. People go a little crazy after going 3months without all that. So yeah, AIT was an experience, even for me: the antisocial never went off post till after graduation, and doesn't smoke or drink. After AIT I went to an additional army school and then got my orders for my first duty station...Korea. Some may say, "Oh, damn thats awsome!" I would not be one of those people. I am now literally halfway across the world and 13hrs time difference away from the couple of people I really and truely care about. Thank goodness for Internet, x Xbox Live, and Cellphones. In someways I am closer than I was in basic training.... |
