We Are Now Awake is Keith Feighan and Sean Luis Ferreiro.
During the early part of the aughts, Feighan, a veteran musician from Philadelphia found himself afflicted with an extremely rare medical condition. After learning that he had essentially not aged for the past fifteen years, Feighan's lifestyle took a dark and unsettling turn. His affliction was quickly defining who he was, and what he was becoming. As a coping mechanism, Feighan conceived of We Are Now Awake. He began to write a collection of thematic songs which eventually became the Imbalance, a concept album detailing his existence and the hell his life had become.
Feighan recruited his long time collaborator, Sean Luis Ferreiro to assist in the recording and composition of the album. Ferreiro's expertise in electronic music production and synthesis was the perfect synergy for the compositions that Feighan had begun. Ferreiro's ear for dark and twisted soundscapes, combined with his familiarity with Feighan's eccentric behaviors made for a perfect addition to the project.
WANA released V1 of their first full length album, theImbalance in June of 2008. The album rapidly created internet buzz, developing a devoted fan base for WANA. After playing dates in early 2009, the duo returned to the studio to touch up the Imbalance for a remixed and remastered V2 release, as they begun work on album #2. They have since signed with Spiralchords Records, out of Oakland CA and Berlin, Germany.
We Are Now Awake will be officially releasing theImbalance in late summer/early fall of 2010, followed by touring and a new album in 2011.
